What is Project
Mini-Chopper?
In the Fall of 2008, four teams of high school students built mini choppers as part of a Manitowoc County wide effort to promote careers in manufacturing. This fall, five teams have taken on the challenge of designing and building a mini-chopper.
The High School Manufacturing Project is a collaborative effort spearheaded by the Economic Development Corporation of Manitowoc County and The Chamber of Manitowoc County with supporting sponsorship by area businesses, manufacturers, local high schools and Lakeshore Technical College.
The project will give high school students real life experiences as they build the mini chopper as part of their academic curriculum throughout the school year.
Participating students will:
Learn about manufacturing careers
Gain new skills
Connect with area employers
Experience real world issues
Meet new people
Have FUN!
